The team of Eco-Optima Group of Companies took part in the scientific and practical conference "Integration of hydro and wind generation into the unified energy system: electrical solutions for the Carpathian region of Ukraine".
The formation of a sustainable, decentralized and technological energy system is a task that is being implemented today. The event brought together leading experts, scientists and market practitioners to develop the so-called "energy islands" — stable decentralized nodes capable of ensuring the energy security of the state in extremely difficult conditions.
The Eco-Optima Group of Companies was represented by:
- Maria Prokhorchuk, Deputy Director for Electricity Market, Eco-Optima Group;
- Mariana Burdega, Engineer of the Production and Technical Department of Sambir Solar Power Plant-2 LLC;
- Solomiya Shklyanka, engineer for commercial accounting and sale of electricity at YAVORIV Energy Park LLC.
In particular, Maria Prokhorchuk made a report on the topic "Synchronization of RES development with the capabilities of distribution networks" and noted that the main barrier is the technical condition of networks that were designed for centralized generation, which is why the problem of "bottlenecks" and exhaustion of connection resources in the western region arose.
The key goal of the conference is a comprehensive analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of RES generation in the Carpathian region, as well as the development of consolidated approaches to the integration of renewable sources into the unified energy system of Ukraine. The speaker emphasized that in order to stabilize the network, Eco-Optima implements energy storage systems, develops microgrids and added gas reciprocating units (25.5 MW) to the portfolio to ensure flexibility.
The organizers of the Conference were NGO "NTSEU", Lviv RENTSE of Ukraine (compiler), Kyiv, Lviv, NGO "Association "Hydropower of Ukraine", Kyiv, NGO "Ukrainian Wind Energy Association" (Ukrainian Wind Energy Association - UWEA), Kyiv.
